Truice is a database editor specifically for Trinity.

It is a fork of Quice, which was made for MaNGoS.

You can edit Quests, Creatures, GameObjects, Items, Loot, Events, EventAI, SmartAI and some minor things.

It is written in Delphi using Embarcadero Delphi XE and the source is available under http://code.google.com/p/truice/source/browse/

and precompiled binarys under http://code.google.com/p/truice/downloads/list

Please post bugs, feedback, suggestions etc. to the googlecode issue tracker: http://code.google.com/p/truice/issues/list

One suggestion, try to change the database input name from “mangos” to “trinity”…just to be sure is “specifically for trinity”

Nice tool, thanks for sharing this with us.

was an error in the localization files, is fixed on the repo now. thanks /emoticons/default_smile.png

Been awhile since I used Quice/Truice. Will give it a shot.

Cheers mate

Could really use some help with the DBC code… If anyone is able to help me with that matter, please leave me a message.

A DLL which provides a few DBC functions would be enough

Dunno if it helps u, but mangos has dbcEditer and dbcformat tools - check their sources (git clone git://github.com/mangos/mangos.git).

Found annoying bug - when u try to execute query, dialogue window appears in German language.

Thx for Truice - great work /emoticons/default_wink.png

dbcformat is just a binary and dbcEditor is written in cpp. The problem is how delphi handles utf8… there were alot of changes in delphi to make it easier, but these changes actually broke the dbc code (i believe compiling truice with delphi7 and changing the utf8 conversion functions back to the old ones fixes it, but i want it to work with d2009). I’ve tried alle the functions which normally would be equal to the old functions, but no luck.

I’ve also written dbc code in c++ and loaded it as a dll in truice, but i have the same utf8 issues when i want to display strings. Integers work just fine

About your dialogue window: Just the title of the window asking if you want to execute the query is in german. The text inside isn’t. I guess it’s because Truice was compiled on a german system.

Could you provide me a screenshot of your dialogue window?

By the way, any chance to implement comments on SAI parameters? (i.e. if event type is 0, event_param1 tooltip should be InitialMin)

I’de like to do SAI without having to look to the wiki /emoticons/default_tongue.png

I will implement something like that in the future, just don’t have that much time atm…

I guess the german texts have something to do with truice being compiled on a german windows. will test if changing system locale to english fixes this

U rly should cooperate with Indomit! Quice/Truice are extremely useful for developers. Here is his email:

Found the sources of last Quice:

If Im not mistaken, Quice was written in D7 and after some time was changed to D2009. Try to ask Indomit about how he solved problems with utf8 I think he will help u in advice.

Truice is a fork of Quice. And Quice is still on D7 /emoticons/default_wink.png

I have contacted him several times, didn’t get an answer.

As he pushed his latest sources just a few weeks ago, his utf8-code is working with D7. So the problem lies within the D7 → D2009 change.

Just wrote a mail by myself, Russian my native language /emoticons/default_wink.png Will see if he can help u.

Thanks /emoticons/default_smile.png

Please test the newest Truice and look if it’s meeting your expectations…

Have used current wiki page, but i’ll probably add some extra info later

The character inventory form is still broken due to item_template.entry references were removed from the character_inventory table (needs to be included via item_instance now).

Thanks, yeah, that was what I meant /emoticons/default_wink.png

The wiki has some errors and there are some special cases in SAI

I will try to update the wiki soon

Still wrong language appears in some dialog boxes.

Btw, seems Indomit has some problems in real life or something - site has standard index page and no info about author… Will try to send another one mail on wednesday.

Cannot be fixed atm. The language is hardcoded into ShowMessage() for example. Some stuff is saved into ressource strings (meaning that you could edit the executable file with ResHacker for example, and change the errormessages), but not all exceptions are. Would be hell of a lot work anyway…

I would need a english version of the RTL and I can’t do anything about that right now.

Yeah, the whole characters stuff needs to be overhauled. But that has absolutely no priority (atleast to me) right now

I am a developer Quice for Mangos … I long ago gave Yuriy a link to this post…

How are you doing?

I received a flattering letter from the user killradio_1337 and asking for help with the project Truice. If my assistance is needed, I will be glad to help than I can

Best regards, BoLT.

PS Thanx G…Translate =)
