I’ve reworked my OP and included several options with regard to unused item lists, along with adding a section about making a custom patch (which is also a potential solution).

You know? not all “unused items” are really unused, a lot of them are weapons for mobs.

i am facing a problem with custom items on 4.3.4 , i have changed lots of item names , levels, colors,…

and gave those items , the item id of some existing items but when game loads(and ofcourse deleted the orginal ones) , item names colors and other stuff does not change,it shows the orginal item that uses that id

this guide helped me alot, I was using custom item and had troubles decribed here and fixed it.With things like books it works well but Aokromes makes a valid point as well but imagine that more to weapons/equip

My question is a 4.3.4 Server… still has to have items that are from the Original vanilla for said players that still have those items… which are all technically unusable items now right?

most items from vanilla are completely unobtainable now for example http://www.wowhead.com/item=22691/corrupted-ashbringer or even better http://www.wowhead.com/item=6900 < this robe took me forever to get on my lock at the time on official only for me to “lose” it when i rage quit and sold everything at TBC release when i came back for WotLK and Cata Release I made a ticket to try and get it back and they said if the logs were still available i they would have gave it back but even If i wanted to re-roll that quest was removed with WotLK and the removal of class based quests, I’m so upset i would have had an unobtainable item to transmogrify if i didn’t sell it!

Hi. Not sure if this is useful or not, but I created an Excel spreadsheet of all unused item id’s for 3.3.5. Generated by comparing the DBC to the Trinity DB

This list includes every item type, not only weapons. EDIT (coincidentally, have not found updated list other than the older weapon-only ones until today lol)
