My server is currently running the 3.3.5a patch, and I was wondering if there is an easy way to import all of the heirloom pieces from the Cataclysm and up expansions into this server?
To say in simple words: No.
To say in slightly more complex words: not without being incredibly hackish.
What you have to understand is that the items you want, the 4.3.4 - 6.2.4 heirlooms, don’t even exists in the 3.3.5a client files. You could create custom items for your own personal use with a best approximation and come fairly close to recreating the new heirlooms, but there would be serious limitations. And honestly that’s a bit outside the scope of this project. The aim here is to come as close to official as possible to help improve understanding of coding a complex MMO. There are plenty of resources out there if you’re interested in creating custom items (which is what you’d have to do to make approximations of later version heirlooms) but, honestly, there is so much basic work to still be done to make even 3.3.5 as official as possible that such endeavors are a bit pointless.
