TrinityCore Ports Explained - Suggestion

Hi all!

I’m not sure if the developers and team behind TrinityCore is also the one behind the https://trinitycore.info website.

I was trying to follow the guide and I had a lot of difficulty understanding the section that talks about the required ports. I think it can be explained a lot better and it will also reduce the amount of inquiries by people while learning to set it up.

I had to go through a lot of trial and error to figure these ports out.

I would suggest re-writing it to something like this:

Retail (master) Branch:

Port: 1119

Component: Auth Server
Related Error: (Loader Error) Client Portal - Server Offline
Issue: Won’t load game

Port 8081

Component: Auth Server (Login REST API)
Related Error: (Game Error) You have been disconnected (BLZ51914002)
Issue: Won’t login

Port 8085

Component: World Server
Related Error: (Game Error) You have been disconnected (WOW51900328)
Issue: Won’t load character screen

Port 8086

Component: World Server
Related Error: (Game Error) World Server is down
Issue: Won’t load world

So far, I’ve only tried the Trinity Core 10.2.7 (master/retail branch). I would appreciate it if somebody else expanded on this for the other versions.

Actually that wiki section is clear enough:

and 1119, 8081, 8085, 8086 (master only) forwarded or open from your router / firewall

master require valid ssl certificate and it’s more complex and also much more bugged.

but anyway I woud suggest you to try 3.3.5 as it’s the best choice for beginners (3724 auth and 8085 world port required only without soap).

So, for 3.3.5a only the following ports are required:

3724 ← Auth Server
8085 ← World Server

I found it confusing because it was all a list of comma delimited ports where the parenthesis didn’t make it clear which ports are for which version.

Appreciate the information.
